Meet the Artist - Paul Tyler

My art is inspired by my travelling and lifestyle. I live in my van full time.
My art reflects my experiences on the road and places I’ve been.
Inspiration can be found in a leaf or tree, a moment, a view, a sunset or a beach.
Then ill pick up my pens and out comes a twisted psychedelic cartoon version made up from these moments.

This is my passion – this is my therapy. My art is my drive to be better as a person,
as a human being, a father of two beautiful children to whom I am separated from by distance and time, to be a good role model for them and give them the inspiration to do better and think outside of the box that so many people live in day to day without question. This is my art.

My Travel Adventures

On my travels, one of the things I love most is randomly pulling up at a beach somewhere and setting up all of my art and drawing.
The general public is very receptive to this. I find myself involved in conversations about my travels and time on the road which in some cases leads to my art finding a new home. Kids are the funniest with all the questions about my art and my characters and how they see it through the eyes of a young spirit.
It makes me feel very humbled to inspire kids to draw and paint, it’s a great feeling to encourage other artists to get out on the street and paint and draw.
Australia is governed by so many insane laws and rules, it’s kinda like Art anarchy for me I guess, it makes me laugh when I get asked to pack up because ”
people don’t want to see this kinda thing at the beach” Mmmmm I beg to differ.
